AMBIANCE:
Now, I’ve never been to NoLa (Must. Fix. ASAP.), but I imagine their goal with the decor is to have you feel like you have been transported to NoLa. Now, I can’t confirm or deny if they were successful (please see travel disclaimer above), but the space is generous. The colors are vibrant, and the large windows offer up tons of natural light. My cousin and I were there during a slightly busier time, so a table was not available, but we did sit at the bar, where full service is available. Personally, I’m not against bar seating, and the bar is pretty massive and centrally located within the restaurant.
SERVICE:
Now, to be honest, sitting at the bar would’ve led me to the assumption that service would be quick, and while it wasn't exactly slow either, I did feel as though I needed to physically flag over my waiter whenever I wanted/needed something. However, once flagged over, anything that was requested was promptly taken care of.
FOOD:
Now, again, full disclaimer that I have not been to NoLa, and cannot make an accurate comparison, but any place that is willing to give me three different types of eggs Benedict is A+ in my book. Poached eggs are my FAVORITE way to have my eggs, so I’m a bit judge-y of them now, and these were poached perfectly! Their menu in general is pretty comprehensive, so you should be able to find something that suits your liking (except waffles. Sad, I know, but I don’t make the rules.) I’m also a firm supporter of boozy brunches, but I will admit, I wasn't impressed with my Big Easy Mimosa or my cousin’s Peach Bellini. (I still drank it because I am not a quitter, but that is besides the point.) Considering the bar is such a focal point of the restaurant, my expectations were higher. Not horrible, still drinkable, but definitely room for improvement.
