How did you get into being a foodie? Any memorable first moment you knew you loved food?

As a kid, I was the pickiest eater! I really only ate chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and PB&J sammies. But I think there was always a part of me that was in awe of my dad and his ability to try anything and everything. I was definitely inspired by him, but it wasn't until college where I truly started to explore new cuisines. I had a number of close friends that were all in culinary school at the same time, and it was through them that I really learned to appreciate different cuisines. Now I’ll pretty much try/eat anything (still a relatively hard pass on beets though. Sorry dad!)

What type of food/cuisine do you think you eat most frequently?

Pasta/noodles. I think every culture has their own version of it, and I’ve probably tried them all. It’s just quintessential comfort food.

What’s your favorite thing about being a food blogger?

I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I have always loved photography (yet another thing I picked up from good ol’ dad) and food blogging lets me combine both!

What’s your favorite breakfast?

Eeeeeeep! I’m a horrible breakfast person! I’m always craving the weirdest things for breakfast, like a poke bowl or something. (Maybe I should just move to Hawaii?) But all joking aside, if I had to pick a breakfast food, waffles hands down.

Does pineapple belong on pizza?

Heck yeah!

Who is your favorite celebrity chef?

Hmmm…probably have to go with Tom Colicchio on this one! (I’m a huge Top Chef fan!)

Where are you from originally? Have you always lived there?

Born, raised, and still live in Queens! Which luckily for me, is actually a foodie heaven dream!

What’s your favorite thing about supporting local restaurants?

Well, duh, the food! But I’m also an extrovert and love talking to people and meeting people (I used to CRINGE when my dad did this, and now I have become him. Oy vey.)

Why do you think food brings people together?

Just as there are so many different types of people, there are so many different types of food/cuisines. It’s truly universal! There’s something for everyone!

Do you eat all of the food you take photos of?

YES! Admittedly, I also ask to take pictures of the things my friends/family order (love me or hate me, but take me as I am please and thank you!), and I love asking to taste their stuff in exchange for them being able to taste mine! Sharing is caring!

No more sweets or no more hearty foods?

Easy peasy. So long sweets!

Have you ever traveled anywhere just/mainly for the food?

New Year’s Day 2017, my entire family packed ourselves into several cars (there’s a lot of us!) and drove to Philly for the sole purpose of getting cheesesteaks. So that year was off to a great start dieting wise!

Where is the world’s best burger? Best pizza? Tell us!

Oooof! I’ve had a LOT of great burgers, but for right now, the current winner is George’s Classic Cadillac Bison Burger from Ted’s Montana Grill. (Disclaimer: George and Ted are co-founders. I pondered for a bit why there is a burger named after George, but the restaurant is named after Ted. Thank you Google.)

As for pizza, Artichoke all day every day!

Any restaurant in your city (or the world) that you can’t wait to try?

Living in NYC is a foodie dream, but I’m still trying to secure a good ol’ reservation at Eleven Madison Park! (If anyone has the hookup, holla at your girl.)

As for outside New York, i’m a huge Top Chef fan, so I want to visit the restaurants that belong to some of my favorite Top Chef contestants!

What is the best thing you have ever eaten that you cannot order in a restaurant?

My mother's potato salad. I’m convinced it has crack in it.

How do you drink your coffee?

This truly depends on the day. I try to be mindful of my sugar intake, so for the most part, I drink it black. But occasionally I’ll treat myself and have it light & sweet. Always iced though! If I’m drinking hot coffee/hot tea, it means I’m not feeling well! LOL

What food(s) do you really dislike?

Beets for sure (sorry dad!). I also don’t like olives. Oh, and keep licorice and candy corn away from me.

How do you eat your eggs?

I’ll eat eggs in pretty much any form, depending on what I’m eating it with. But my favorite is definitely poached. I love a good Eggs Benedict, or a bowl of ramen with a poached egg in it. Yummmm!
