“We all eat, and it would be a sad waste of opportunity to eat badly.”

In Honor & Memory of William Lloyd Joyner, III

Much to my father’s dismay, I was a very picky eater for most of my childhood. I followed a very strict diet of chicken nuggets + mac and cheese + peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. (These are all still top contenders though, just FYI.)

Luckily, as time passed on, my preferences matured immensely, and I can’t help but believe that I inherited my father’s tastebuds. (I did not, however, inherit his love for beets. Blegh.) He traveled the entire world and consumed every type of cuisine, and following in his footsteps (tastesteps?), I vow to do the same. From my incurable case of wanderlust, to my love of Krispy Kreme donuts, to my deep appreciation for the art of food, I owe it all to him.

This is my food journey. Thank you dad for showing me the way.
