Tuna Tartare Tacos

Feat: Tuna Tartare Tacos
Location: SALT
Address: 3100 Whaleneck Drive
Merrick, NY 11566

AMBIANCE:
In a word, perfect. A Pisces' dreamland, but a waterfront dreamland for everyone really (unless you have a fear of the water, but then maybe don't come to a place called Salt On The Water...?) They're décor and ambience is perfect seaside casual chic. It has an upscale feel, and yet simultaneously casual enough to feel like you're in your best friend's backyard (if your best friend happens to have a home on the water). They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but you might be limited on the option depending on how busy it is. And it does get busy.

SERVICE:
I have been here several times, and have never been disappointed. Even during their busier hours, I have never had trouble finding my waiter, and always feel very attended to without feeling overtly hovered on. (I'm not sure if she is still there, but big shoutout to DANA if she is! I felt like we were best friends by the end of my meal.)

FOOD:
You can't have an amazing seaside restaurant without amazing seafood, and Salt On The Water does not disappoint! And even if you don't want seafood (although why would you come to a place called Salt On The Water if you don't...?) they have plenty of options for the carnivores. I would however refrain from bringing your vegetarian/vegan friends, as options for them are relatively limited (unless they REALLY love salad and sides, and/or cocktails). And speaking of cocktails, try them all! These are not your average run-of-the-mill rum n' cokes, and they bring bright twists to cocktail classics.

MENU RECS:
- Tuna Tartare Tacos
- Seafood Risotto
- Lobster Roll

NOTES:
The restaurant has valet parking for your convenience. They do take reservations, but ONLY for OUTDOOR seating. Indoor seating is first-come-first-serve. (Their reservation conditions do change from season to season, so be sure to check their website for the most up-to-date information.) They do make changes to their menu each season, so your dishes may differ from the ones listed. They are a seasonal restaurant, so don't attempt to go in December (#ImJustSaying). And lastly, if this is an option for you, you can arrive by boat! (No valet for that though, in case you were wondering.)
